Fast Food

In early 2010, I participated in a “fast draw/sculpt” feature in the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition in Charleston, South Carolina. Using soft clay, as I was limited to 45 minutes, this sketch of fox and rabbit was accomplished. The design was preconceived and the wire armature set, so the figures were the “heart” of the work then. The subject is simple: a quest, a competition, a developing drama in which one side will lose . . . and you can have your way. “Fast Food” seemed an appropriate title, given our culture as it is juxtaposed to an ancient and enduring test of the natural world.
