Quiet Refuge

It's what they need; safe harbor. Free from the elements that can destroy and disrupt, it beckons. So, too, we need Quiet Refuge, a place to rest and rebuild.

The impetus for Quiet Refuge came at the end of a particularly tumultuous year. A number of family events and some changes brought a need for refuge -- so this work was an outgrowth of my response. Since pre-school days I have been intrigued by waterfowl and will likely never completely leave the subject matter. When in groups, the closeness of fowl in the air and to the surface create a last instant of confusion just before the calm of sanctuary.
